Blue Side Of The Street chords by Eddie Cline

Eddie Cline Chords

This song was written in the late 1960's by Eddie Cline, and is one of my
favorites by him. Eddie CLine was a Canadian Country Artist who in my
opinion had "the right stuff" to make it, but unfortunately did not. He
recorded two records / cassettes with some very good music on them.
Tragically he died in 1999. I am the son he never knew, and the only one of
his children that inherited any kind of musical gene. I am submitting this
song as a tribute to him, and will submit the other 21 songs as time goes
on. Thank you, I hope you enjoy it. (To get a copy of this recording,

you free of charge)

Title: Blue Side of the Street
Artist: Eddie Cline

(Played as a moderate to slow pick strum beat, with capo on the first fret)
* Remember to walk or step down into some of the chords, it will enhance the
song)

Intro: G G C C

             C C7 F
F
Now the streets are dark and empty, in a town that I know well.

       G G C "G"
( step down to C)
The only sound out on the street, is a ringing of a bell.

              C C7 F F
You may wonder way I am here, so blue and so forlorn.

      G G G C
"C"(step down on A string only: c, b, a#, a)
My darling left me yesterday, I wish I'd not been born.

(Chorus)

A A D
D
Every street has two sides, one is good and one is bad.

     D D G G7
But I just lost the only love, that I've ever had.

   C C7 F F
I used to walk the sunny side, as happy as can be.

            G G C "C"
(step up into a G, and the step back down into a C)
Now I'm walkin' down, the blue side of the street.

[spoken]

         C C7 F
F
Now I walk the sidewalks late at night, wondering what went wrong.

    G G C
"G" (step down into the C)
I thought that I'd been good to her, now suddenly she's gone.

        C C7 F
F
Sometimes you think you've got the world, in the big palm of your hand.

       G G G
C "C" (step down on A string only: c,b,a#,a)
She left this town with my best friend, and its more that I can stand.

(SING CHORUS)

Now I'm walking down the blue side of the street.
